What Genesis keeps about you, why, and what you can do about it.
What we keep
- Your account: the name you chose, your email, and your password (as a one-way hash we can't read back).
- What you make: your systems, their versions, notes and settings, and your paper and broker sessions with their records.
- Broker connections you add: the keys or tokens they need, kept on the server to place your orders.
- What the service needs to run: when you signed in, what each piece of work cost the machine, and the server's own logs.
What we don't do
- We don't sell your data, show you ads, or use outside analytics or trackers.
- We don't look at your systems except to run them, or when you ask us to help with them.
- No AI service reads your data, unless you give one a key to your world yourself.
Who else sees it
Nobody else on Genesis sees your world unless you share or publish something. To provide prices and trading, the server talks to market-data sources and to brokers you connect; a broker sees the orders sent to it. Email, when we send it (a link to get back in), goes through the email provider this server uses.
Cookies
One cookie keeps you signed in. There are no others.
Your choices
From your world you can download everything of yours, and delete your account; deleting it removes your account and your files from the service (daily backup copies age out within fourteen days). You can ask us anything about your data.
Keeping it safe
The site is encrypted, passwords are hashed, broker keys are kept on the server only, and each person reaches only their own world. No system is perfectly safe; if something of yours were ever exposed, we'd tell you.
